Virtual

Sunday, May 1 , 2022 | Est. 1969

There is no registration fee this year to participate. Although the virtual event has taken place, registration will remain open until June 30, 2022 for people to continue to make fundraisers and donate!

On May 1, 2022

Because our priority is the health and safety of our community, the 54th Walk for Hunger will be held only on our digital fundraising platform, with many participants choosing to walk safely in their own communities at home.

We continue to be inspired by your dedication and commitment to raising money for hunger relief in Massachusets, and for participating in their own creative ways on Walk Day!

Let's go big again in 2022 for hungry families and stay connected throughout Walk Season. Get inspired by your impact.

Project Bread hosted a Facebook Live on Walk Day featuring special guests, exciting updates, and live cut-ins from participants from around the state to keep us connected on event day.

PARTICIPATING

Because our priority is the health and safety of our community, the 54th Walk for Hunger will be held only on our digital fundraising platform, with many participants choosing to walk safely in their own communities at home. The Walk for Hunger is your event — this year, you decide how you'll get moving to help hungry kids and families. Start fundraising and participate virtually in any way you like. Get inspired by the ways people participated in 2021!

On May 1st, you could:

  • Raise $20 for every mile you walk or run.
  • Facebook Live while playing rounds of golf.
  • Walk a number of miles in your neighborhood on your own or as part of a small group and live tweet with photographs.
  • Do whatever you think might be fun!

GET INSPIRED: VIRTUAL SNAPSHOTS

In 2020 and 2021, teams and participants still got together in their "pods" and celebrated our community effort to fight hunger.  We shared our experiences on social and connected virtually on our live broadcast. Some participants even passed each other on the streets or in parks — we love that!

Share your training, fundraising support on social media with #WalkforHunger and tag @projectbread. Let's inspire one another as we support our communities and neighbors facing hunger.

WHAT TO DO WITH OFFLINE DONATIONS: CASH OR CHECKS

Since the event is virtual this year, you won't have a chance to bring your checks and cash donations with you to Boston Common to turn in to Project Bread. Here is what you should with donations you raise offline.

Cash: We strongly encourage you not to mail cash. If possible, keep the cash yourself and write a check to Project Bread for the cash amount.

Checks: Before you mail any checks to Project Bread, write your name in the memo line so we can credit your personal fundraiser. If it is a donation for your Team, and not your personal fundraiser, write your team name in the memo line so we can credit your team fundraiser (this is especially important for teams that are fundraising as part of The Commonwealth program).

  • Ask your donors to make checks payable to "Project Bread"

Mail Your Donations to Project Bread:

You can print out these Tally Cards to include when you mail checks to Project Bread to help us correctly credit them to your fundraiser - or team fundraiser.

  • Mail checks to:

Project Bread
145 Border Street
East Boston, MA 02128

Login to your Participant Center and add your Offline Gifts: This will update your fundraising total to accurately reflect how much you have raised!
