This holiday season will be different for many of us. The difficulty is amplified this year for those who are facing food insecurity. We are so inspired by your dedication to making a difference and breaking the cycle of hunger. We can not thank you enough!

Steps for Success

1. Start a fundraiser today

Register to create your personalized fundraising page. Register as an individual or start a team for your group or office!

2. Explore your participant center

Edit the text on your page, explore email templates and see donation information, all from your unique participant center.

3. Send emails to your friends and family

You can send emails directly from your participant center! We have pre-written emails in there to make asking for donations, recruiting team members, or thanking donors as simple as possible. Tell friends and family how important it is this holiday season, to help make sure all our neighbors are fed.

Donations can be made directly on your personal fundraising page - share your "Personal Page URL" that you can find in your participant center, or people can search your name on Donate Page of the "Helping Hungry Neighbors through the Holidays" homepage.

4. Connect your fundraiser to Facebook:

This is one of the most helpful tools for reaching your fundraising goal. In our participant center is a big blue box that says "Connect Fundraiser to Facebook."

Click that button and follow those steps, it will automatically create a Facebook Fundraiser that is tied to your Project Bread Holiday Fundraiser. Donations made to your Facebook fundraiser will show up in your thermometer and participant center.

Troubleshooting: If you’ve created a Facebook fundraiser first, before you registered on the Project Bread website and created a Holiday Fundraiser, please reach out to info@projectbread.org as those donations will not be linked, we can help make sure those gifts are reflected on your page!

5. Fundraise and Get Creative!

There are lots of ways to fundraise! See the list of ideas below to get started.

  • Holiday gifts: ask friends and families to make donations in lieu of holiday gifts. Make a gift to your own fundraiser to kick things off!
  • Get competitive: start a team fundraiser and invite friends to register as your teammates and challenge each other to see who can raise more this holiday season.
  • Get crafty: edit your page and fundraising messages to let donors know that you each donor will receive a handcrafted thank you. Do you sew? Send donors custom face masks. Are you an artist? Send hand drawn thank you notes. If you love the kitchen? Share thank you baked goods with your donors.

6. Thank your donors
Whether you use the pre-written "Thank you" email in your participant center, post on social media, or you sped a special handwritten card, thanking your donors is an important step in fundraising. Don't skip it!

7. Raise your fundraising goal when you reach it!
Your fundraising will make a difference, right now, for hungry kids and families across the Commonwealth, giving them access to food and advocating for long-term solutions that are scalable and sustainable. You can easily raise your fundraising goal in your participant center.

Thank you so much for helping families facing food insecurity this holiday season and for supporting Project Bread.
