2017 Walk for Hunger & 5K Run

Arbella Insurance

Thanks for visiting the Team Arbella WFH page

Join us on Sunday, May 7th to celebrate our 10th year of walking!

2017 marks the tenth anniversary of Arbella's passionate participation in Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger and hope to make this year the most successful walk yet! In 2016 we had 430 employees, family members and friends of Team Arbella and raised over $30,000 making Arbella one of the Walk’s top corporate organizations. Combined with the Arbella Insurance Foundation’s $50,000 sponsorship, the company’s overall donation totaled over $80,000. Join us on May 7th to build on this momentum and make 2017 another great year for Team Arbella and Project Bread!

Why participate? Because good food is a basic right. Food insecurity continues to rise in Massachusetts with over 700,000 people struggling to put healthy food on the table—that’s 10.8% of your neighbors that need our help. The money we raise by walking all or part of the 20-mile route will help Project Bread fund hunger relief and prevention through 450 emergency programs, schools, community health centers, farmers markets, community suppers, home care organizations, and other programs that protect the individual and strengthen our community's food security. Last year alone, programs funded with money from the Walk were able to provide 65.2 million meals to hungry people.

Together we CAN make a difference and improve the lives of individuals and families throughout our communities!

About Project Bread and The Walk for Hunger

As the state's leading antihunger organization, Project Bread is dedicated to alleviating, preventing, and ultimately ending hunger in Massachusetts. Established in 1969, The Walk for Hunger is the oldest continual pledge walk in the country. The Walk allows Project Bread to provide millions of dollars in privately donated funds to over 450 emergency food programs in 129 communities statewide each year. Project Bread also advocates systemic solutions that provide food for families in natural, everyday settings, such as schools, after-school programs, summer programs, community health centers, hospitals, and home care organizations.
