Help me Reach My Fundraising Goal for The Walk for Hunger!
Congregate meals through Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services provide socialization and food security for older adults from Cambridge and Somerville. It's a great program, which relies on local support.
Our team is walking this spring to raise funds that will support the program and raise awareness of its impact in the community. SCES congregate meals served nearly 1,500 meals per month last year, and with the expiration of expanded SNAP benefits and rising food costs, we expect demand will only increase in the coming year.
If you can, please consider donating to support our program and statewide efforts from Project Bread to help get food relief to kids and families across Massachusetts.
I know that you agree no one should go without a meal, yet Project Bread estimates that 1 in 6 households with children across the Commonwealth are worried about having enough to eat.
That's why I'm participating in The Walk for Hunger (2023), and have made this fundraiser to fund hunger relief in Massachusetts.
Will you join me in fighting hunger by donating and helping me reach my fundraising goal!?
Your donation benefits Project Bread, and will prevent hunger by making it easier for people to access and afford food with dignity. And it will advocate for policies that make food more accessible for everyone.
