On Sunday, May 6th, I am proud to be joining in Project Bread’s 50th Walk for Hunger.
I walk because I believe in Project Bread. My belief has become a passion over the years as I have seen the power, the strength and the devotion of the larger community to this organization. As I walk, I feel that I am in the center of one giant embrace--an embrace which represents an awareness of a responsibility to those in need.
Each year I walk to help decrease the formidable numbers of the hungry in our state. Each year, walking the entire 20 miles, becomes more of a personal challenge: but, my aches and pains are nothing compared to the isolation, shame and pain created by hunger and by standing in a line at a food pantry.
I walk for all those who would, but cannot.
I walk for my husband who cannot do this.
I walk because project Bread's Walk for Hunger is a Rite of Spring---a time of rebirth and renewal--of hope--of equality---of peace.
Please consider giving to support my Walk, and the great work Project Bread is doing—or joining me to walk and raise money yourself!
