Join me to support COVID-19 hunger relief!

Help Me Feed Kids and Families During this Crisis and Beyond.
As many of you know, the Walk for Hunger has been close to my heart for a long time.
The pandemic has exacerbated existing economic, social, and health disparities. Today, more than 42 million people (including 13 million children) in the richest country in the world, grapple daily with how to find their next meal.
Recently, I heard a story on NPR that represented the experience of millions across this country, about a woman whose job was eliminated early in the pandemic, nearly lost her life to Covid, only to return home to a stack of hospital bills and an empty refrigerator, with no ability to feed her 8-year-old son. She shared that it was food banks that made it possible for her to survive. Her story is reflective of what the research shows, that food banks are the most efficient way to relieve hunger. Unfortunately, due to the exponential increase in need, our food banks are struggling to keep up. Perhaps you too have seen the many images of people waiting in lines stretching around city blocks to collect any food offered.
Though the past year has not been a fun one for our family in many ways, relatively speaking, we have been incredibly fortunate by staying healthy and keeping our jobs. I had already planned to participate in the 2021 Walk for Hunger, but hearing such stories and internalizing what so many others in our communities face, has compelled me to increase our family contribution ten-fold this year and set a target to raise $10,000 for this worthy cause. I ask you to please consider giving generously, or whatever you can afford in these unprecedented times.
