Please support this special Walk for Hunger!
For 35 of the last 36 years, I've walked 20 miles to raise money for Project Bread's Walk for Hunger. This year, the formal Walk for Hunger was canceled, so I'll be walking 20 miles around my neighborhood (maintaining appropriate social distancing, of course). Despite the change of venue, the goal remains the same--to feed hungry people through your generous donations.
The Walk for Hunger has always been about a promise to provide relief to those struggling with food insecurity. And while the physical walk will not take place this year on the first Sunday in May — as it has for 51 years — we will fulfill our promise to support those most in need of help as we raise funds for COVID-19 crisis hunger relief.
COVID-19 is seriously impacting food insecurity for those most vulnerable in Massachusetts.
Your donation supports rapid response to this crisis, so no one goes hungry:
Your gift right now will ensure children continue to receive school meals while their schools are closed. Massachusetts residents can call Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline for assistance in finding food. That voices of those most vulnerable to the impact of the coronavirus will be heard in the State House, scalable policy solutions urgently needed to address the crisis are hard fought for, all of the other ways the Project Bread is working for—and advocating on behalf—of our low-income neighbors.
Thank you so much for taking care of our neighbors in need! For hunger and food resources in Massachusetts, visit www.projectbread.org/covid19.
