More than 726,000 Massachusetts residents don't always have enough food to eat.
I believe everyone deserves access to healthy food. That’s why I’m not waiting for change – I'm walking for it.
On Sunday, May 6, I will be joining Project Bread in the 50th Walk for Hunger to take on 20 miles and raise money to end hunger in Massachusetts!
I can't do this alone – I need your support. Last year I was able to raise $5,000.00 with your support. This year, in my 35th year of walking, I will reach 700 miles walk once I complete my walk this year. So this year I have set a lofty goal of raising $7,000.00 ($10 for every mile that I will have walked upon completion this year.).
Last year, money raised through the Walk supported 263 local programs in nearly 100 communities across the state, including food pantries, meal programs, local farms, urban gardens and early childhood and school nutrition programs. These programs address hunger on both the individual and systemic level.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Walk page! Just click on the green button with my name on the top right of this page.
We must all do our part to take care of our community. Please consider making as generous a donation as you are able – whether it's $50, $75, $100 or more. Also, see if your employer will match your donation.
Thank you for helping me make a difference. We all can do this one step at a time, as I have done for the past 35 years. Thank you again this year for your generous support! Horace Thayer
