If it is the first Sunday in May, then you will find me walking in the Walk for Hunger in Boston. That is what I have done almost every year since 1969 when I first took part in this amazing event. This year’s Walk falls on our 46th wedding anniversary; I’ll be walking while Mike takes photos of the walkers for Project Bread. We’ll meet again at the finish line.
I'm proud to be participating in Project Bread's 51st Walk for Hunger on Sunday, May 5 but I am dismayed that there is still a need for this fundraiser. I am asking for donations to support community-based programs across MA that help people access and afford food.
Hunger impacts 1 in 10 people in this state, and in some communities as many as 7 in 10.
Please help me reach my goal by making a donation of whatever you can; no amount is too small! On April 1 this year I reached a personal fundraising total since 1995 (my earliest record) of over $100,000. That is due to the generosity of dozens of generous donors who donate to me each year, some since the ‘70’s!
You are making a difference for the people who rely on these funds to alleviate hunger in their homes and in their communities.
Thank you so much!
