The Walk for Hunger | May 7, 2023 | Est. 1969
Hi friends,
On Sunday May 7th I'll be participating in the Walk for Hunger, something I've done every year since 1988. Why? BECAUSE it is simply intolerable that in such a wealthy state and country we have tens or hundreds of thousands of people - friends, neighbors, kids - scrounging for enough food to get by. So not knowing what else to do about that........I walk and try to raise a little money in hopes that it helps at least some of those folks get by another day, week, month.
Over the past two years I've had the honor of working with Bread of Life in Malden, partnering with Metro North Housing where I'm doing some part-time contract work. Bread of Life is one of those truly front line organizations providing food to people in need and it's inspiring to see what they get done. Check out BOL's website if you want to learn more: http://www.breadoflifemalden.org/ Knowing how much food they provide to tens of thousands of people each year also drives home the extent of the need. So this year, while I'll be walking again with my friend John Murray, I decided to join Bread of Life's team.
