Heart & Sole Circle

A Heart & Sole Walker or Heart & Sole Volunteer is an individual who raises $500 or more in pledges for The Walk for Hunger.

While all Walkers and Volunteers make a difference in the lives of hungry people, this group of dedicated participants together raised over $1.5 million dollars last year!

Heart & Sole Walkers are all ages, from 9 to 90. Many of these committed, mission-minded Walkers have been participating for more than 20 years. Their hard work and generosity make it possible to provide one third of the critical support Project Bread provides to hungry people throughout the state.

It’s easy to raise $500! Just ask the more than 1,500 Walkers who had friends, family, neighbors and co-workers supporting them in helping the hungry in Massachusetts. Register now and join the Heart & Sole Circle by pledging to raise $500 or more! Get ready to watch your fundraising thermometer rise with each donation you receive.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Heart & Sole Circle

Do matching gifts count toward Heart & Sole fundraising totals?
Yes! Your employer and your donor's employers can make matching gifts that will count toward your donation total!

Are Walk Volunteers eligible to become members of the Heart & Sole Circle?
Absolutely! Many Volunteers raise $500 or more to become Heart & Sole Volunteers. And, Volunteers get credit for all 20 miles of The Walk for Hunger!

If a Walk team collectively raises $500, do they all become Heart & Sole Walkers?
No, only Walkers who individually raise $500 or more can become a Heart & Sole Walker. However, Walkers are invited to start a team of Heart & Sole Walkers and would still be considered part of the Heart & Sole Circle, provided each Walker’s pledge sheet/online pledge page each totals at least $500.

What if a Walker cannot raise $500 by the day of the Walk? Is there any chance for Heart & Sole Circle membership?
Yes. Walkers are welcome to and strongly encouraged to continue to raise pledges after the Walk. Just mail the pledges in to:
